新西兰央行大幅降息0.5% 澳洲会否跟进？

THE Reserve Bank of New Zealand today cut interest rates by 50 basis points to 2.5 per cent in a bid to cushion the blow of the devastating earthquake last month, but it pointed to rate increases down the track when the reconstruction got under way.

新西兰央行3月10日将基准利率下调50个基点，至2.50%，以帮助缓解地震给新西兰带来的冲击。

新西兰央行行长布拉德表示，未来货币政策取决于经济数据，一旦经济开始复苏，将撤出目前的政策。

如此一来，至少降低了澳央行在今年年内连续升息的可能性。Westpac银行的首席经济学家Bill Evans预测今年澳央行可能仅仅会在第三季度加息一次。
