台湾女留学生因非法进口水晶虾被判15个月监禁

A TAIWANESE student was jailed today for illegally importing "pretty" prawns into Brisbane.The District Court in Brisbane heard Chin Han Chen twice brought the crystal red shrimp into Brisbane via mail from Taiwan which she intended to sell to the aquarium trade.

据2011年1月28日《Courier Mail》报道，1月28日，一名台湾女留学生因非法将水晶虾进口至澳洲被布里斯班地方法庭判处15个月监禁。

今年28岁的陈琴涵(Chin-Han Chen音译)周五在法庭上对两起非法进口动物的罪行供认不讳。

法庭获悉，陈琴涵曾两次与台湾的一位熟人联络，给她运了两船活的水晶虾，

陈琴涵在企图将水晶虾向卧底的检疫人员出售时被抓获。

水晶虾在澳洲水族宠物店里便可买到，收藏价最高可达每只1000澳元，但检疫法却禁止从外国进口水晶虾至澳洲。

法官Michael Shanahan判处陈琴涵15个月监禁，必须狱中服刑三个月后才可持守行为保证书假释。
