Up to 10km/h over the speed limit - one demerit point and an $84 fine.
11 to 20km/h over the limit - three points and a $197 fine.
21 to 30km/h over the limit - four points and a $338 fine.
31 to 45km/h over - three month suspension, five points and a $647 fine.
More than 45km/h over - six month suspension, six points and a $1,744 fine.
But for P2 drivers, penalties for even a tiny breach of the speed limit will be increased.
