联邦财政吃紧 墨尔本Frankston Bypass“悬了”

THE future of the $750 million Frankston Bypass, a key plank of John Brumby's transport plan for Melbourne, is in doubt, with funding from the Federal Government now unlikely.

据2009年3月26日《The Age》报道，由于联邦政府救市政策耗资巨大，五月份的财政预算案非常“吃惊”，原本计划注入墨尔本Frannkston Bypass高速公路工程的联邦拨款已无可能。

去年10月，维州政府决定在最近两年斥资$7亿澳元兴建不收费的Frankston bypass，连接Mornington Peninsula Freeway和收费的EastLink，将大大缩减市中心到Mornington半岛的行驶时间。原本打算在获得联邦政府的部分拨款之后该工程将于2009年动工兴建。

根据维州政府确定的2030年远景规划，墨尔本将建立除市中心以外的六个商业和发展中心，以缓解墨尔本市中心的交通拥堵状况。

这六大中心分别是：西北区的Broadmeadows，东区华人聚区Box Hill，东南Dandenong，南部远郊Frankston，近城西区Footscray和东区远郊Ringwood。
