中国和印度留学生数量一年大增21％推动澳洲经济发展

CHINESE and Indian students with pockets full of renminbi and rupees are bolstering the Australian economy. International enrolments jumped by 21 per cent in January.

As many as 298,462 full-fee international students enrolled at Australian vocation education training centres and universities at the start of the year.

据2009年3月19日《The Age》报道，今年1月份，在澳洲各大专院校注册、付全费的国际留学生数量飙升21%，达到298,462人。其中来中国留学生占四分之一，其次是印度。留学生热门课程包括酒店类，商科及商业管理。

澳洲教育出口产业去年产值高达$155亿澳元，逼近澳洲最大的出口创汇产业－－矿产业。

澳元大幅贬值是吸引越来越多留学生来澳洲就读的重要原因之一。澳洲作为英语国家也越来受到世界各地留学生的欢迎。
