Miss me – but let me go

看到astina在她母亲去世时写在自己blog上的一首诗,非常感动。她说,‘转眼间,母亲离开我已经有一年半,阴阳两隔,不思量,自难忘。父母双全者,务必请你们好好珍惜!’
Paradise

There is a place called paradise
Where there is no pain no sadness
Where weather is nice food is delicious
And people are always in good health

Mum is on her way to paradise
I am rushing to tell her my last words
I will try hard to hold back tears
Knowing that she is heading towards eternal happiness

Mum, have a nice trip to paradise
And you never ever worry about us
For one day we will all join you there
Where you and Dad rest in peace

By then I will update you of all the gossips
Who's married whom and who's got how many kids
How much I've got in my last pay rise
And which exams I've taken over the years

But till then you enjoy yourself in paradise
Enjoy the nice weather, delicious food and good health
Enjoy your time without pain and disease
Enjoy with Dad your well-deserved peace

Hey there is one last thing please
If you happen to forget in the unlikely case
Please give Dad my hug and kiss
When you see him again in paradise

我想起一个当地洋人的葬礼上宣读的一首诗,也许是宗教的力量,西方社会老年人那种‘视死如归’的超然心态令人印象深刻:

Miss me – but let me go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little –but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love we once shared
Miss me – but let me go

For this is journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you're lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends you know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me – but let me go
